GREETINGS FROM THE CHAIR

The first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol starts from the next year. As the energy consumption in the residential and commercial sectors is still rapidly growing, global challenges for the mitigation of CO2 emissions are mandatory.

In the field of refrigeration and air-conditioning, it is our responsibility to promote the research and development of innovative technologies to accomplish not only the energy conservation but also CO2 emission reduction.

The Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (JSRAE) has been contributing in academic activities for the achievement of a sustainable and comfortable society by organizing conferences and forums year around where intellectuals from industry, government organizations and academic institutions are gathered for discussion and research presentations.

We expect a record number of attendances from Japan and overseas countries at the coming 2007 JSRAE Annual Conference.
